The Han dynasty was a very large empire. It was locacted in China Proper, where most of the Chinese population lived. People lived in China Proper becasue of it flat lands and rivers. these rivers allowed people to build camps around water so water was a plentiful source. This also allowed trade to run and people would go on the rivers to trade. The flat lands allowed people to build without the problem of moutains.
This mortuary vessel, known as a hu, is decorated with the animated drama of a blue beast with bared fangs lunging at a mounted archer. Roaming the other side of the hu is a long, striding tiger. Executed with brilliant pigments and confident black brushstrokes, the decoration on this vessel perfectly expresses the boldly assertive character of the Western Han dynasty and is, moreover, one of the finest known examples of Han painting.

Before the invention of paper, the turtle shell, animal bone, golden stone, bamboo slips, wood and cloth were used for recording and remembering things.The supply of cheap paper meant that great thoughts could be written on the paper and read by people. Advanced and new ideas could be passed quickly and widely to the majority of people. It has promoted and quickened the steps of human civilization and development.
